Villages

BruCON is a two-day conference attracting around 600 attendees for thought-provoking presentations, hands-on workshops, and challenging security exercises. As an open-minded gathering of cybersecurity professionals, BruCON bridges the gap between hackers, security specialists, non-profits, CERTs, law enforcement, students, researchers, and more.

BruCON is organized as a non-profit event by and for the security and hacker community. With a history of sold-out events and over 16 years of success, BruCON continues to be a leading independent security conference in Belgium and Europe. Hosting a village at BruCON offers a unique opportunity to engage hands-on with security professionals, share your expertise, and build community around the topics you care about most.

You want to run a village at BruCON? Send us an email to submit your proposal. Spaces are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis when the call opens.

Village Information & Rules

What is a village

A village is an interactive, self-contained space where attendees can drop in at their own pace to learn, experiment, and get their hands dirty. Unlike a presentation, there's no fixed schedule or audience, participants engage whenever theypass by. A village is not a sponsor booth or a presentation/demo of your services and products! You can display your brand but the focus cannot be commercial. We expect you sharing knowledge, sparking curiosity, and giving people something to tinker with.

Proposal requirements

Your proposal should cover the following:

  • Who is your target audience, and what level of experience should they have?

  • What technology domain or security topic does your village focus on?

  • How is the experience hands-on and practical, what will participants actually do?

  • Can your village integrate with our BruCON CTF by offering flags for participants to capture?

  • How does your setup support asynchronous participation, so attendees can drop in and engage at any point during the conference?

  • What will participants walk away with; a new skill, a fresh perspective, a challenge conquered?
