Brussels, Belgium — This is the call for papers (CFP) and participation for the 4th edition of BruCON, a 2-day Security and Hacking Conference full of interesting presentations, workshops and security challenges. BruCON is an open-minded gathering of people discussing computer security, privacy, and information technology. The conference tries to create bridges between the various actors active in computer security world including (but not limited to) hackers, security professionals, security communities, non-profit organizations, CERTs, students, law enforcement agencies,etc. The conference will be held in Ghent
on the 26th and 27th of September 2012. 2-day trainings will be offered in Ghent on September 24th and 25th of September 2012.

Because we believe it’s important to have an independent review of CFP submissions we have composed this committee of experienced people who represent different aspects of the information security community. This committee consists of :
- Your name
- Where do you live (country)
- a brief biography
- Type [presentation|2-day training|2h workshop|4h workshop]
- The title of your presentation/training/workshop
- A description of your presentation/training/workshop
- An abstract of your presentation/training/workshop
- Explain why your submission is relevant for the BruCON audience.
Additionally you are encouraged to include, in plain text or PDF format, supporting materials such as slidedecks, white papers, curriculums, prerequisites for training/workshop, …
- product or vendor related pitches are not accepted.
- Submissions by 3rd parties (not the speaker himself) are not accepted.
- Talks that don’t include the details described above are not accepted.
BruCON conference including the information on the public website. We do not accept product or vendor related pitches. If your presentation involves an advertisement for a new product or service your company is offering, please do not submit. Also, we do not accept presentations submitted by a third party including (but not limited to) company representatives, management bureau’s, etc. BruCON presentations should be focused on topics that are of interest to security and technology professionals who are paying attention to current trends and issues. We want BruCON to be educational and entertaining to the attendees and the community.

Important information

If you are accepted as a speaker at BruCON 2012, we will :
– cover accomodation during the duration of the conference.
– assist in travel expenses where and if necessary (*).
– invite you to the speaker dinner.
* we have covered travel expenses for all of our speakers on all previous editions and will continue to do so. We just don’t want someone to misunderstand that this means we’ll cover a first class flight from halfway around the world. Our speaker coordinator will be in touch as soon as your talk has been selected to make sure all details are discussed and agreed upon.
