BruCON 0x0D Update – Keynotes / COVID-19 / Workshop registrations

With BruCON 0x0D around the corner we are getting everything ready for our return after one year of absence. With this post we want to bring some updates to you about our upcoming 13th edition of BruCON!

We have already updated our schedule page with all information about our talks and speakers so you can already plan your BruCON experience.

Keynotes

We also have the pleasure to officially announce our two keynotes for this edition !

Marc Rogers is VP of Cybersecurity at Okta and a whitehat hacker & hacktivist. He has been hacking since the 80’s and is renowned for hacking things like Apple’s TouchID and the Tesla Model S. Prior to Okta, Mr. Rogers served as the Head of Security for Cloudflare and spent a decade managing security for the UK operator, Vodafone. He’s been a CISO in South Korea and has co-founded a disruptive Bay Area startup. In his role as technical advisor on “Mr. Robot,” he helped create hacks for the show. He’s also an organizer and the Head of Security for the world’s largest hacking conference: DEF CON. Most recently Mr Rogers helped found the CTI League, a multinational cybersecurity initiative combining industry professionals, government agencies and law enforcement from 80 different countries.

Hacktivism during a global pandemic (Thursday, October 7, 10 AM)

Phédra Clouner started her carrier at the Belgian Ministry of Finance as IT Project Manager. Specializing in document management, enterprise content management and records management, she becomes responsible of information management, business intelligence and web content management at the Ministry of Justice. In parallel, she becomes chair of document@work, the belgo-Luxembourg-association for Enterprise Content Management and founds and manages the Belgian antenna of FEDISA international (the federation for information lifecycle management, storage and archiving). Given her passion for information security, she also took up a CISO function for the Ministry of Justice and evolves further in that area. She has been Deputy Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Belgium, the Belgian national cybersecurity agency,  since its creation a little over 5 years ago. She’s Founding Member of the Women4Cyber Initiative, launched by European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO). She’s also member of the Advisory board of The FIC (Forum International de la Cybersécurité) .
She was recognized in 2019 as one of the 50 women of influence in Cyber-security Europe by SC Magazine and as a privacy and security professionals across Europe by Data Protection World Forum-PrivSec

Workshops

The registration for our workshops (obviously only for people with a BruCON 0x0D ticket) will open this Friday 24th of September at 5 PM (CET). Given the limited amount of seating, please be ready to secure yourself a seat in the workshop of your preference. You find all the details on how to register for a workshop here.
