BruCON 0x0B Keynotes

We are very happy to announce the keynote speakers for BruCON 0x0B ! For our 11th edition, we have invited Rob Fuller and Kimber Dowsett to come and keynote at our wonderful conference in Ghent. See you all there !

Rob Fuller (@mubix) has over 14 years of experience covering all facets of information security. He has been behind the lines helping to design, build, and defend the US Marine Corps, US Senate, and Pentagon networks – as well as performing penetration tests and Red Team assessments against those same networks. More recently, Rob has performed numerous successful Red Team assessments against commercial Fortune 50 companies representing some of the best defensive teams in the industry.

Rob’s experience and expertise ranges from embedded and wireless devices in industrial control system networks to standard corporate IT infrastructures and domains. He is a frequent speaker at a number of well-known security conferences, including ShmooCon, DefCon, DerbyCon, CarolinaCon, Area41, RVASec, and HackCon; and has taught at BlackHat USA since 2013. He is the current CTO and Red Team Captain of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC). He has also served as a technical advisor for HBO’s show Silicon Valley and hosts his own show called “Metasploit Minute” for Hak5.

Rob has acquired a number of certifications and awards over the years, but the ones he holds above the rest are father, husband, and United States Marine.

Kimber Dowsett (@mzbat) is the Director of Security Engineering at Truss, a software infrastructure consulting firm based out of San Francisco, California. She joined Truss after serving at 18F, an office of U.S. federal employees that collaborates with other agencies to improve how government serves the public through technology. She also served six years as a Mission Information Specialist at NASA, securing instrument and ground systems in complex laboratory environments.

Kimber is active in the security community, with particular interests in vulnerability disclosure, bug bounties, and bridging the gaps between government, private organizations, and security researchers. She is passionate about privacy, encryption, and building user-driven technology for the public.

In her spare time, Kimber developed and maintains the framework for Mock Interview and Resume Review (MIRR) Workshop, a project that partners mentors with mentees from underrepresented communities who are un/underemployed in tech and seeking opportunities for professional development. She also enjoys designing and building PCB-based electronic projects. Kimber is an avid admirer of Chiroptera, comic books, and video games.
